Main Text: Galatians 3:13, 14, 26-29
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree), that THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM MIGHT COME UPON THE GENTILES IN CHRIST JESUS, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13, 14).
The central focus of this message discloses the difference between the generally known unmerited favour (salvation) and the ever-increasing and abundant favour that guarantees the presence of God in ones life wherever one goes on the face of the earth. The message makes known how one can tap into such great and abundant favour of God in order to fulfill ones God-given assignment on the face of the earth as an individual Christian.
First and foremost, we were given dictionary and biblical definitions of this great and ever-increasing favour. According to Webster Dictionary, favour is an act of kindness beyond what could normally be expected. On the other hand, from the Bible, from the heroes and heroines of faith, and the corporate Church in its entirety, favour simply means that God has already prepared things ahead of you so that when you get there you simply walk into them.
We are made to understand that in order for us to be able to tap into this great and abundant favour of God, the foundation of hearing God accurately, seeing Him clearly, obeying Him promptly and believing Him totally must first and foremost be established in our lives. However, this foundation cannot be properly laid unless we dig out and cut off every form of human culture and tradition that belittles the tangibility and the power of Gods word concerning us.
Hence the core key to this great ever-increasing abundant favour is contingent upon our ability to hear God accurately, see Him clearly, obey Him promptly, and believe Him totally, regardless of contrary circumstances, human tradition, or the philosophy of men. That is what it means to put on Christ.
The life of Abraham and Daniel were profiled as examples of those who displayed such qualities. Thus God made them great in all things as far as their destinies in God were concerned because they extolled the word of God above any other thing in their lives. Favour is God's means of making all things work together for your good, though they may look awful momentarily. That is the key to having favour anywhere one goes on planet earth (Genesis 12:1-3; 18:1-3; 22:15-19; 24:1; Daniel 1:1-9; 2:29, 30, 48, 49; Romans 13:14; 8:26-30).... Dr Tunde Bakare
